Elks, Does sponsor ‘street smarts’ and self-defense classes free to the public

The Jefferson Does and Jefferson Elks are sponsoring FREE classes on “street smarts” and self-defense Oct. 4 and Oct. 18.  These will be taught by two local instructors. 

Randy Winkelman, a native of Scranton, served six years in the United States Navy. He  served as a police officer in Connecticut and attended and instructed self-defense classes for 23 years. 

Jacob Keller has lived in Jefferson for 20 years. He has trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, sports Jiu Jitsu and self-defense Jiu Jitsu for nine years. He is currently the owner and instructor at No Coast Jefferson. 

Both have children and understand the importance of always being aware of their surroundings and self-defense. They will instruct on basic awareness, prevention and protection.  Classes will be held at No Coast Jefferson, 105 N. Chestnut St in Jefferson from 2 to 4 pm for ages 16 and up.  Waivers for minors must be signed by a parent or guardian.
